RHEEM ELECTRIC FURNACES AND AIR HANDLERS
Involved Models: RBEA Electrical Furnaces and
RBHA model Electric Air Handlers
with Date Codes Between 3592 and 4595
Installed in Downflow and Horizontal Configuration
In Cooperation with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, Rheem
Air Conditioning is repairing about 135,000 downlflow and horizontal electric
furnaces and air handlers. The heating elements in the electric furnaces and
air handlers can disintegrate, and expel small particles of metal through the
duct system and into the living area of the residence. The molten metal particle
can ignite nearby combustibles, presenting a fire hazard to consumers.
